Accepting these terms

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) form an agreement between you and Sreeyush Sudhakaran, the owner and operator of BankingKnowledge.ai (“we”, “us”). By visiting the Site, registering an account or subscribing to the newsletter, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

What the Site is for

BankingKnowledge.ai is a knowledge-sharing project that explains banking concepts, products, payment systems and processes in plain language. The Site is not a bank, does not offer or arrange any banking, credit or investment product, and does not handle your money.

No professional advice

Content on the Site is general information for learning. It does not take into account your personal circumstances and is not a recommendation to buy, sell or use any financial product. Before making any financial decision, check current terms with your bank or the relevant regulator and speak to a qualified professional. See our Disclaimer for full details.

Accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
• You agree to provide accurate information (your name and email) and to keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.
• Do not create an account on behalf of someone else without their permission, or create more than one account to get around a restriction.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• break any law or regulation, or use the Site for fraud, phishing or any other unlawful purpose;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, its servers, database or other users’ accounts;
• introduce viruses, malware or any code intended to damage or disrupt the Site;
• scrape, crawl or copy the Site in bulk by automated means without our written permission;
• overload the Site or interfere with its normal operation;
• click on ads artificially or encourage others to, or otherwise manipulate advertising on the Site;
• impersonate any person or misrepresent your connection with us or with any bank or regulator;
• send us spam, abusive messages or sensitive banking credentials.

Intellectual property

The articles, text, tables, graphics, design and the BankingKnowledge.ai name and logo are owned by us or used with permission, and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may read the Site, print or save individual pages for your own personal, non-commercial learning, and quote short excerpts with clear credit and a link back to the original page.

You may not copy, republish, sell, translate or redistribute substantial parts of the Site, or use its content to build a competing product or dataset, without our prior written permission. Names of banks, payment systems and regulators mentioned on the Site belong to their respective owners and are used only to explain how things work.

Feedback you send us

If you send us suggestions, corrections or other feedback, you give us permission to use them to improve the Site without payment or credit to you. We will not publish your personal details without asking you first.

Third-party links and ads

The Site contains links to websites we do not own, such as regulators and banks, and shows advertisements, some served automatically by Google AdSense and some placed directly by advertisers. We do not control or endorse those sites or advertisers and are not responsible for their content, products, prices or privacy practices. Any dealings you have with them are between you and them. If you submit an advertisement enquiry form and give consent, your details are shared with that advertiser as described in our Privacy Policy.

Accuracy and availability

We work to keep content accurate and current, but banking rules, fees, limits and interest rates change often and vary between banks and countries. We do not promise that any page is complete, error-free or up to date. We may change, suspend or remove content or features at any time, and the Site may be unavailable from time to time for maintenance or reasons beyond our control.

No warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage, whether direct, indirect, incidental or consequential, including financial loss, loss of profit or loss of data, arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Site or its content, or from any third-party site or advertisement. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Indemnity

You agree to be responsible for, and to hold us harmless from, claims, losses and expenses that arise from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Site.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or delete an account, or restrict access to the Site, if we believe these Terms have been broken or the Site or other users are at risk. You can stop using the Site or ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing us.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows the latest version. If you keep using the Site after a change, you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai. Subject to any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live, the courts of Dubai have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Site.
