1 Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using BankingKnowledge.ai ("Platform", "Website", "Service"), whether as a guest or as a registered user, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately cease using the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform following any modification to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

2 Description of Services

BankingKnowledge.ai provides an online banking education and information platform including but not limited to:

• Educational articles, guides, and explanations on retail banking, corporate banking, private banking, credit cards, loans, and payment systems
• A free interactive IBAN (International Bank Account Number) validation tool
• A REST API for IBAN validation available to registered developers under separate API terms
• Registered user features including content email delivery and PDF export
• An FAQ section and knowledge base covering Indian and international banking

All content is provided for educational and informational purposes only. We are not a bank, financial institution, investment adviser, or regulated financial services provider. Nothing on this Platform constitutes financial advice.

3 Eligibility

To use the Platform you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age, or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction
• Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
• Not be prohibited from receiving our services under applicable laws
• Not have had your account previously terminated for violation of these Terms

By registering an account or using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you meet all the above eligibility requirements. If you are using the Platform on behalf of an organisation, you additionally represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

4 User Accounts

4.1 Registration

Certain features of the Platform require you to register for a free account. When registering, you must provide accurate, current, and complete information. You agree to update your information promptly to keep it accurate.

4.2 Account Security

You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to:

• Choose a strong, unique password and not share it with any third party
• Notify us immediately at hello@bankingknowledge.ai of any suspected unauthorised access
• Not allow any other person to use your account
• Log out from your account at the end of each session

We will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with these security obligations.

4.3 One Account Per User

You may only maintain one active account on the Platform. Creating duplicate accounts is prohibited and may result in termination of all associated accounts.

4.4 Account Suspension

We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate your account at our sole discretion, with or without notice, for any violation of these Terms or for any behaviour we determine to be harmful to other users, the Platform, or third parties.

5 Content & Intellectual Property

5.1 Our Content

All content on BankingKnowledge.ai — including text, graphics, SVG illustrations, logos, design elements, articles, guides, data, and code — is owned by or licensed to BankingKnowledge.ai and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

5.2 Limited Licence to Users

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Platform and its content for your personal, non-commercial, educational purposes only. This licence does not permit you to:

• Reproduce, distribute, publicly display, or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Platform
• Use our content for commercial purposes, including training machine learning models
• Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices

5.3 Accuracy of Content

While we make every effort to ensure accuracy, banking regulations, interest rates, product details, and regulatory thresholds change frequently. All figures, rates, and regulatory references are indicative and may not reflect current market conditions. Always verify information with your bank or a qualified financial professional before making financial decisions.

5.4 User-Submitted Content

If you submit any content to the Platform (e.g. through contact forms), you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, and display such content for the purposes of operating the Platform. You represent that you own or have the right to submit such content and that it does not infringe any third-party rights.

6 Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to use the Platform to:

• Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation
• Transmit unsolicited commercial communications (spam)
• Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely claim affiliation with any person or entity
• Engage in any data mining, scraping, or systematic extraction of content
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform or its systems
• Introduce viruses, trojans, malware, or other malicious code
• Conduct or facilitate phishing, fraud, or financial crime
• Use the IBAN Validation API in ways that circumvent rate limits or authentication
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Platform
• Use the Platform in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair our servers or networks
• Collect or harvest personally identifiable information of other users
• Post content that is defamatory, offensive, obscene, or that violates any person's privacy

7 API Services

7.1 API Access

Access to the BankingKnowledge.ai IBAN Validation API is subject to a separate registration process, admin approval, and the plan-specific terms set out at our API documentation page. These Terms of Use apply in addition to, and not in place of, any API-specific terms.

7.2 API Credentials

Your API client_id and client_secret are personal to you. You must not share them with any third party. You are responsible for all API usage under your credentials. We are not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorised use of your API credentials.

7.3 Rate Limits & Fair Use

API usage is subject to monthly request limits determined by your plan. Attempts to circumvent rate limits — including through credential sharing, rotating credentials, or technical workarounds — are prohibited and will result in immediate suspension.

7.4 API Availability

We do not guarantee uninterrupted API availability. Planned maintenance windows will be communicated where feasible. We are not liable for losses arising from API downtime, errors, or data inaccuracies.

8 Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform and all content, tools (including the IBAN validator), and APIs are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement
• Warranties that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
• Warranties as to the accuracy, completeness, or currency of any content
• Warranties that the IBAN Validation API will produce results that are legally or commercially definitive

IBAN validation results from our tool or API are provided for indicative purposes only. They should not be solely relied upon for financial transactions. Always verify with the relevant bank.

9 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BankingKnowledge.ai and its owners, operators, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any:

• Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities
• Financial losses arising from reliance on content, IBAN validation results, or API output
• Damages arising from unauthorised access to or alteration of your data
• Damages arising from any third-party conduct on or through the Platform

In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of certain damages, our liability shall be limited to the greatest extent permitted by law. In no event shall our total aggregate liability exceed ₹1,000 (Indian Rupees One Thousand) or the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, whichever is greater.

10 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless BankingKnowledge.ai, its owners, officers, employees, and partners from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to:

• Your use of or inability to use the Platform
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights
• Any content you submit to the Platform
• Your use of the IBAN Validation API in ways that cause harm to third parties

11 Privacy

Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Platform, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in our Privacy Policy.

We take the protection of your personal data seriously. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Please review our Privacy Policy carefully to understand our data practices.

12 Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination:

• Your right to use the Platform ceases immediately
• Any API credentials issued to you become invalid
• We may retain your data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes as described in our Privacy Policy
• Sections 5.1, 8, 9, 10, and 13 of these Terms survive termination

13 Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.

Before initiating any legal proceeding, we encourage you to contact us at hello@bankingknowledge.ai to resolve disputes informally. We will make reasonable efforts to resolve disputes amicably within 30 days of notice.

14 Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify registered users of material changes by:

• Updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
• Sending a notification email to your registered email address (for material changes)
• Displaying a notice on the Platform

Your continued use of the Platform after any changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Platform and may request deletion of your account.
